Our Mission & Philosophy

Launching Careers & Connecting Neighborhoods

All artists face challenges in learning their crafts. With our philosophy that there is no single path of expression, Young Musicians of Westchester (YMW) assists musicians embarking on professional careers by providing opportunities to perform before Westchester audiences.

YMW's artists honor historic forms of music and explore new areas of creativity, presenting Westchester communities with a rich range of cultural, social, and intellectual diversity through free admission concerts. Musicians receive stipends for their participation in our programs and we fundraise for this purpose.

Who We Are & How We Select Artists

Young Musicians of Westchester is an all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in Westchester County, NY. We offer concerts that are free to the public and free to schools.

Conservatory Partnerships

We partner with music conservatories and universities with outstanding music programs (including Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes, and Yale School of Music), providing their students and recent alumni with opportunities to perform the music they are studying and interested in exploring. We also seek out venues where artists and their audiences gather to explore and listen to this range of musical expression.
